Only in a positive way! I now have enough money to my family nice presents at Christmas and on their birthdays.

The hours I work are very reasonable and it’s not really stressful, so I hope it doesn’t affect them very much!

My partner is also and engineer and works for the same company so we have a lot in common and the impact is a positive one. Also we’ve got similar amount of experience and earn a similar amount which makes things easy!

My parents are from Scotland and I now live in England – one of my brothers also lives in England. So from location, I see my parents less often – but that’s natural as you grow up. It makes going home for a holiday even more special!

I can also say I help provide them all with safe, secure electricity which they use everyday! 🙂

Yes, my family is in Sri Lanka, and hence the chances of seeing my parents are about 3 times a year. However, I had the choice of staying in Sri Lanka as well.
