I really enjoy the energy industry – there has recently been, and in the next few years there will continue to be, very big changes in how we generate and use electricity.

I think it is because I find it so interesting that I am able to work through the harder challenges!

Firstly, I really enjoy my job, I like the company I work for and the colleagues I work with which is very important.

Secondly, I am very competitive, and I am most competitive with myself. Every time I do something I want to do it better than I did it last time. It’s important to learn early on what you’re good at what what you’re not very good at so you don’t get frustrated when you’ve tried your best at something that is not your natural strength and haven’t done as well as you’ve hoped. Concentrate on your strengths and develop these – people will start associating you with what you’re good at, instead of what you’re bad at, and this will build your confidence and motivate you.

The idea of a better future is what inspires me. It sounds cheesy but it’s true!

If I can feel like I’m making a difference, no matter how small, then I can keep on going.

My team mates are simply the best, I enjoy my job because of them, and we usually celebrate successful completion of project designs. On the other hand, if the project hadn’t turned out the way we planned, we re-examine the lessons learnt from the project life cycle and how it can be improved.

It keeps me motivated and always ready to take on more
